This bill codifies a woman’s right to chose as guaranteed by the United States Supreme Court in its Roe v. Wade decision. It declares that every women in the United States has the fundamental right to chose to bear a child or terminate a pregnancy. It also prohibits any government entity from denying or interfering with a woman’s right to exercise such choices or discriminating against the exercise of these rights.

This bill requires that pharmacies to ensure that prescriptions are filled in a timely manner and without any harassment of the patient. This legislation acknowledges that individual pharmacists may have moral objections to filling certain prescriptions, and it does not force a pharmacist to fill the prescription. But this bill ensures that women have access to legal contraception at their pharmacies.
